We are all students
Over the course of my career I have performed in many different venues. I have met thousands of people and musicians along the way. All are great in their own way, and possess a quality that the other may not have.
One may possess speed, while the other may possess the most impeccable technique. Or one may be a virtuoso with a big ego, while the other stays in pocket 100% of the time and is the most down to Earth person you have ever met.
Whatever the case may be, I have learned that one can learn from every musician - yes, even from the 10 year old that is just starting out but practices 4 hours every day!
We can help educate others around us. Whether it's sharing how you prepare for a gig, your warm up techniques, new technology, exercise routine, or your approach to a certain music genre, we all have some knowledge that can be shared.
We are all students and no one is better than the other. We each have our own way of doing things and expressing our talents, that is the beauty of music! That is part of what makes it Art!
So keep learning, sharing your crafts and most importantly, having fun!
